Thuppakki (Tamil: துப்பாக்கி; English: Gun) is the tentative title of a forthcoming Tamilaction film to be written and directed by A. R. Murugadoss. The film will star Vijay and Kajal Agarwal in the lead roles.

During the times of shooting for Velayutham and Nanban,Vijay and A.R.Murugadoss decided to come together for a film.It was to start after Vijay finished shooting for both the films. The film was initially reported to be titled Maalai Nerathu Mazhaithuli.Deepika Padukone was rumoured to be play the female lead. Later many actresses like Sonam Kapoor,Pranitha,Priya Anand and Kingfisher Calendar model Angela Johnson were each rumoured to star as the female lead.It was finally rumoured that Priyanka Chopra might play the female lead.But she denied the rumours clarifying that she was not approached for the film. Finally,Kajal Agarwal has been confirmed to play the female lead.
Initially, S. A. Chandrasekhar was to produce the film.Currently,the film is to be produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu.The film will feature background score and soundtrack composed by Harris Jayaraj and cinematography will be handled by Santhosh Sivan. A dubbed version of the film in Telugu with the same title is also expected to release simultaneously. Vidyut Jamwal is expected to be the antagonist
